To the Table

Seasons of Waiting

Listen Later

Welcome back To the Table.

What are you waiting for? Are you in a season of waiting? If so, trust me, I’m right there with you. It’s not a good time. Today, we’re answering the “waiting” questions. I’ve heard all my life to “wait on the Lord”. What does that really mean? How does my perspective change when I consider that He’s right there with me? In the midst of the waiting, He is right there to strengthen me, comfort me, and give me His peace. We hope you leave this conversation encouraged. No promises that it will be fun or even comfortable. But, He has promised to be there, to use all the things – the good, the bad, and the ugly – and to strengthen you. And He who promised is faithful (Heb. 10:23).

Show Notes🗒️

Psalm 139:1-6 – O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar.  You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.

Matthew 1:23 – “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).

Ps. 130:5-6 – I will wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for morning.

Lamentations 3:25-26 – The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

Isaiah 40:27-31 – Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, and my right is disregarded by my God?” Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
