The Beginning is not a point in time. It is a person, and you are seated in him.

This is the opening teaching of the Matter series, which takes physics as its entry point: matter is anything with weight that occupies space, and for you to matter you must have both. Before God ever asked for worship, which is worth-ship, the ascribing of worth, he first gave you worth. The weight was assigned before the demand was made. The teaching then moves to its central argument: the Beginning, Faith, and the I AM are not three separate categories. They are three names for the same person, Christ, and all three are you. You are not running out of time because the Beginning is not behind you. You are in him. Faith is handled the same way. It is not a capacity you develop or a discipline you maintain. Faith is a person given to you, which means resting in Christ is not a secondary posture, it is the definition of faith. The mystery once hidden is now named: that man, in all his smallness, is one in God and one with God, filled to fullness so that nothing else can occupy that space.
