A really enjoyable read.

Sophie moves to Laguna after being jilted by a cheating fiance. She embarks on her desire to become a writer. As she begins to rebuild her life, she meets a great guy (Nick) that slowly finds his way into her heart. She learns to trust and love again. Nick has never met a woman like Sophie. Their chemistry is like nothing he's experienced before. A misunderstanding makes him turn away from Sophie, only to realize that he may have overacted out of fear of getting hurt. I really enjoyed this book. The ending made me smile.

Second chance romance

If you like second chance romance and lovely descriptions of ocean front places, then this book might be for you. This book was well written and you felt like you really were on the beach in California. The romance moves along quickly but not always smoothly, and the hero and heroine need to make some life changes to get to their Happily Ever After. But they do get there and have a satisfying ending for all.

A great debut novel!

If you're looking for that book to take with you on vacation--or to curl up with on a rainy day, this is the book for you. Sophie and Nick are smart, fun and their chemistry is fantastic. A great debut from a new author--you won't be sorry!

Awesome book!

This was an absolutely awesome book! Claire's writing flows so well I can't believe she is a debut author! It's such a fast paced and captivating story that I could not put it down. I really enjoyed Sophie and Nick as well as the steamy parts.

Loved this novel -- a perfect beach read for a recent vacation.

I'm picky about my romance novels and always leary of trying new authors, but I'm glad I took a chance on this book. The main characters were well-developed and extremely likeable -- Sophie frequently had me chuckling out loud -- and the secondary characters were also nicely drawn. The book was fast-paced and kept me hooked throughout...but not so fast-paced that the author skipped the work of making me care about the characters and their story.

I'm looking forward to the next two books in the series!
