WE go back to Clara McAllister and Samuel Washington, 1880s banks of the mighty Missouri River- two graphically talented young almost-lovers.  She a gifted sketch artist, he an innovative steel monger who has designed what he calls "The Washington Steel Pen"- finely tuned steel pen capable (in the right hands!) of creating much finer details than the in-use quill pens of the day.

As these two young almost-lovers discover their shared dreams- will they chase those dreams, or will the dreams chase them?
