Cccchhhiiillleeee....whew! Secret jealousy is a thing. A thing that sadly shows up in our walk with Christ way too often. As our generation steps into various roles of leadership and ventures out into launching our personal ministries, there's a cloud of competition forming that just should not be. People are losing sight of what their assignment is and are causing what God intended to be purposeful and impactful to become self-serving, self-gratifying, and self-praising. REAL ministry is actually the complete opposite. It's becoming a servant to the people God has assigned you to. REAL ministry requires sacrifice, but most of all it REQUIRES your obedience. Stop acting like obedience is optional. When we fall into this competitive nature in ministry, it brings out some nasty character flaws, like jealousy. Instead of focusing on our assignment and harkening to the voice of God for instruction...we become driven by the number of likes and shares, and the number of people who joined our live. How many downloads did my podcast get? How many people viewed and subscribed to my YouTube channel? How many people stood up while I was preaching? Obsessed with things that we look to "validate" our assignment. When God already validated your assignment and the work that goes with it when he assigned it to you. What happens when we do this, is we open the door to comparison...which can lead to SECRET JEALOUSY! All of this plays a major role in how you're able to navigate and fulfill your assignment. If these things get in the way....you'll think you're walking in purpose because you are doing work, but in fact you're accomplishing nothing because you're out of alignment. In this episode of #SMRadio I'm share my personal story of how jealously and disobedience hindered me from walking in purpose.
