Presenter is Keith Butler from Indiana Disability Rights. Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is a civil rights law that protects qualified persons with disabilities from discrimination.  This presentation is not a complete recitation of the law, but only Section 504 as it applies to schools. Presentation will discuss Child Find, evaluation and re-evaluations, manifestation determination requirement for disciplinary change of placement and procedural safeguards requirements. This presentation is appropriate for parents of children with Section 504 plans, school staff, including Section 504 Coordinators and anyone who works with students with disabilities.
