Banshee is hard to spot, and appears to encrypt itself using system tools like XProtect that help it avoid detection by antivirus tools. Once installed, it scours your Macs for browser credentials, cryptocurrency wallets, and other data that cybercriminals can sell or use to breach the devices of you or your company. As always, be careful about where you download your software. Update your operating system regularly to ensure you have the latest security patches installed.
