Sedna is a dwarf planet that orbits out at the farthest reaches of the solar system. She gets her name from the Inuit goddess who is the guardian of the ocean creatures. 

Here we look at her myth, how she escaped from an arranged marriage to an evil sorcerer, how she was abandoned by her father, how she eventually made her home at the bottom of the Arctic Ocean as the goddess who looked after the whales, seals and fish. 

Sedna has given her name to a newly discovered dwarf planet that orbits out beyond Pluto whose astrological influence is beginning to be understood.
