Members Reviews:
Interesting story, terrible narrator
Is there anything you would change about this book?
This book needs a different narrator. It was incredibly difficult to tell what she was saying from line to line.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Seductive Secrets?
When the truth about Alyce's father and her true identity are revealed to Julian.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Allison Cope?
Rosalyn Landor or Clarissa Knightley.
Could you see Seductive Secrets being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
not really
Any additional comments?
I was provided a free Audible credit for this audiobook by the author in return for an honest review.
ANOTHER BOOK RUINED BY NARRATOR
This could have been a good book but I guess I'll never know because by Chapter 7 the AWFUL Narrator had given me a headache and I'd lost the plot completely so I gave up and took 2 painkillers.
When are the PIC's ('people in charge') of converting a paperback book into an Audio book ever going to understand that the choice of a Narrator is a vital part in giving the listener a good or bad listening experience and so it's worth spending that bit extra for an accomplished one otherwise just don't bother doing it. So PIC's, if you take the time to look back at 5 star listens you will see that the Narrator has played a big part in achieving the transformation of the written word and has successfully breathed life into all the characters, given them personalities and infused events with all the relevant emotions and it's this ability that makes us want to listen to them until the very end and to recommend the book on that basis.
Worth a credit? I wouldn't listen to it even if it was free so NO WAY NO HOW is it creditworthy. But 'Sample' the listen for yourselves and see if you could persevere where I have failed.
Narration was terrible.
The story was fun and interesting. The narration was difficult to overcome. I finished the book by reading the kindle version.
But I did finish it
Why? Why did the characters do what they did? Why did I suffer through the whole book?
This was dreadful. The narration was one of the worst I've listened to. Certainly not the worst but right up there - although I did like the narrator's voice. Her cadence and timing were off.
For whatever reason, I forced myself to finish this. It was confusing and tedious. The Epilogue was good.
I already have the second book.
