In a time when anyone can change how we see history, we MUST commune with our elders. The ones who have seen history unfold. Our living museums full of rich stories and all the facts on our history.

I am so honoured to have had the opportunity to commune with my parents to hear of their lives during apartheid and their transition into a free South Africa.

What you find when you ask people about their lives, you see how the system was at play whether they are aware or not.

And that really is the point of it.

I hope this conversation encourages you to have such conversations with your family or even friends, what you hear may surprise you.
