Friends,
The readings for this Sunday suggest a contrast between what is below (Vanities of Vanities, all things are vanity) and that which is above (Seek what is above, for our lives are hidden with Christ with God).
I share with you my homily. In it, I speak of the war which exists within ourselves ever since Adam and Eve brought upon us Original Sin. I speak of how even today, we have a vision of the body and the soul being separate when they are not distinct things as a driver is distinct from a car.
This is not reality. The Body and the Soul are two irreducible aspects of the one sole being.
Two important things to reflect on: (1) The body is good and wonderfully made (2) we must seek what is above and allow Christ to give us a nature redeemed by his Cross and Resurrection.
