When we examine his Word more deeply, this scripture passage reminds us of several important truths. First, God is not limited to the natural, the logical, or the reasonable. Second, God’s will does not always appear comfortable, and it often isn’t comfortable. Although what the Lord asks of us or allows to occur in our lives can often feel difficult and strenuous, he knows the end from the beginning, and his will is perfect in every way. Last, God’s plans and purposes do not always serve a theology of natural reason and personal comfort, but even then, his plans are always good and bring glory to him.
