That was the banner headline from the Marion County Record after their office was raided by the full force of the Marion, Kansas police department after coming into possession of incriminating information regarding a local restaurateur, the local police chief, and a local judge who issued the warrant for the raid.  Charlie Preusser, editor of the Crawford County Independent, joins the Thursday edition of the 8 O’Clock Buzz to discuss events in Marion, but also to inform listeners to the dangerous threat to local press freedom experienced by many smaller, local news outlets country-wide.  A recent article in the Columbia Journalism Review by Jon Allsop provides a relatively short but comprehensive summary of the Marion event and Charlie recommends that everyone read this article.
