The prophecies of Ezekiel take place around the time that Jerusalem was destroyed by the Babylonians. The prophet ministered to his fellow Jews in exile who were disillusioned with God and growing complacent in their faith. So God seized control of Ezekiel, turning him into a living sign that God remained firmly in control over his people and would bring their tragic story to a glorious end.
