There are some things that are so obvious that you don't have to think about them. You just know instictively what the answer is or what the proper action is.

In Mark 10, Jesus seems to ask one of those questions to a blind man.

Jesus asks the man, "What do you want me to do for you?" (vs 51)

At first reading, we may ask, "why does the Son of God have to ask a blind man that question? Isn't it obvious what is exactly needed in this situation?"

Perhaps Jesus wants the blind man, and us, to look beyond the obvious to other opportunities or possibilities in life.

Perhaps God wants to do more with our lives than what we are initially thinking of.
