Tamar has always fascinated me, her little story is tucked away neatly between Joseph’s betrayal by his brothers and the beginning of his servitude in Egypt. She was a woman who had great courage, doing the unthinkable to attain what was rightfully hers, a child. Tamar was unafraid to reach for her tomorrow and she has much to teach us about claiming the promises of God.
Here are links to two books that were a great help to me and offered a unique perspective in this unusual story.
A Lineage of Grace by Francine Rivers
Women of the Bible by Ann Spangler and Jean E. Syswerda
