David Allen is the godfather of productivity. If you haven’t read his books yet, you must. But it’s one thing to read a great productivity system, and it’s very different to implement it and sustain those tactics in your everyday life. In this episode I grill David to find out how to make daily overwhelm disappear, and how to organize everything in business and life. (and keep it organized!!)

Jaime: Have you ever felt overwhelmed? Have you ever said “I wish I had enough time,” or “I don’t have enough time for that?” That’s something that entrepreneurs say over and over and over again. Today’s episode I feature the godfather of productivity, David Allen, from the book Getting Things Done. Now if you haven’t heard of it yet, you need to go out and get it, or watch this episode because he does a whole recap on exactly what that is. He doesn’t think you should have anything, anything in your head. No to-do’s, no remembering the milk, no, none of that stuff. All of it should be out in a system that you can trust. Now I’ve learned all about Getting Things Done, and I thought it was really difficult to implement at first until I did this interview with him. Listen in because he sort of scolds me on exactly what I should be doing, and it’s helped tremendously. I did this interview a few weeks ago, and I just wanted to do the intro after I had done a few weeks of it. Let me just say it has really changed all of my productivity. Thank you so much, David Allen, from me, and I hope you enjoy listening to it. David is a riot. Take care.

David: Sure thing, Jaime. I’m happy to be here.

If you know, people that are entrepreneurs have a thousand ideas and not a lot of productivity habits that we stick with. So do you have any one or two things that we might be able to do?

David: You know, overall, especially for people who are kind of running their own show and wearing a lot of different hats, it becomes particularly critical that you get the appropria...
