Selena Gomez was born to a 16 year old mother, her parents would split up when she was 5 and her mom would work three jobs simultaneously to try and stay ahead. Her mother too an actress brought Selena backstage at a stage show where Selena realized a career in performance was her dream as well. The jobs came quickly as she was cast in Barney and Friends at the age of 10. She would continue to work steadily but it wasn’t until she was dating the Beib’s did she become a household name on her own.
