Jen Vanderzalm is a self-taught makeup and hair artist who owns and operates her own company ‘Dames & Dolls Makeup + Hair’. She took her life-long passion of hair play and finding ways to enhance one’s beauty with makeup, and turned it into a successful freelance business. She wanted to have the flexibility to enjoy her family life, be able to spend more time with her son, and provide extra income for her household.

Jen is continually educating herself online and takes as many hands on workshops as she can get her ‘hands on’. 
Jen loves to travel with friends and family, enjoys wine, and loves to dance. Drinking helps her bust out some exceptional moves, just ask her girlfriends 🤣
You’ll find she’s very down to earth, sometimes with self deprecating humour and realness. She says that taking clients p/t, keeping somewhat active with workouts, and attempting to keep the boys fed with healthier choices than KD all the time, keeps her life pretty fulfilled and she’s grateful for that.
•Jen also admits that one of her weaknesses is spending too much time online consuming content, and not creating it. That along with honey Dijon chips, a good bottle of Pinot Grigio (obviously) and lacking the drive to push her business further. But hey, we’re all human, let’s all drink to our strengths and our flaws and celebrate them together!
