  • 58. Why You Have No Time For Self-Care And Last On Your To-Do List

You keep telling yourself you don't have time for self-care.

You're a busy mom over 40 with work, kids, a home, responsibilities, and a schedule that always seems to have something else that needs your attention. You know you feel better when you work out, eat well, get some movement, release stress, or simply have a little time to yourself. But when life gets busy, your self-care is usually the first thing to go.

In this episode, we're looking at why you may not need more time as much as you need to start making room for yourself in the time you already have.

I'll share a story from my own life when another mom offered to help me find a way to work out, and instead of considering her suggestions, I immediately came up with reasons why they wouldn't work for me. We'll talk about what happens when you automatically say no before you've even considered the possibility, how to stop making self-care more complicated than it needs to be, and how your routines, healthy habits, workouts, clean eating, time management, and stress release can actually fit into your real life.

And if you're navigating midlife and the changes that can come with being over 40, including questions about perimenopause, taking care of yourself becomes even more important.

You don't need a perfect schedule or hours of free time to be consistent with self-care.

You need habits and routines that fit the life you're actually living so you can feel good over 40.

  • 57. Living Your Best Life as a Busy Mom Over 40 Is More Than How You Look

What does living your best life over 40 actually look like as a busy mom?

For me, I’m learning that it’s about so much more than how you look.

After attending my 25-year high school reunion, I found myself thinking differently about what it means to feel good, take care of myself, and live my best life in midlife. Yes, I was proud of the physical work I’ve put in through my workout routine, strength training, walking, healthy habits, and clean eating. But I also realized that the woman I want to become over 40 needs more than a strong physical body.

She also needs a strong mindset, emotional health, spiritual health, meaningful connection, stress release, and the ability to keep growing through every season of life.

And that’s what I want you to think about in this episode.

As a busy mom, life is going to continue to bring responsibilities, changes, challenges, and unexpected things. You may have goals for your health and self-care, but knowing what you want to do and actually doing it consistently are two different things.

Your routines and healthy habits have to fit the life you are actually living.

I’m sharing the vulnerable moment I had at my reunion, what it showed me about my own mindset and growth, and how the healthy habits I’ve consistently practiced over the years helped me show up differently.

Because living your best life over 40 isn't about waiting until life slows down.

It’s about making time for self-care in the middle of real life.

And sometimes that starts with one small healthy habit, one workout, a walk, more intentional clean eating, finding a way to release stress, or creating a routine that helps you follow through on the goals you keep saying are important to you.

If you’re a busy mom over 40 who knows what you need to do but struggles to make yourself consistent, this episode will help you think differently about what it means to feel good and take care of yourself in this season of life.

  • 56. You're Not a Quitter: Your Self-Care Habits Don't Fit Your Life As a Busy Mom Over 40

You’re not a quitter. You may just be trying to create self-care habits that don’t actually fit your life.

As a busy mom over 40, you have work, family, kids, schedules, and plenty of other responsibilities competing for your time. So when you keep starting and stopping your workouts, healthy habits, routines, or other self-care, it’s easy to think you’re the problem.

But what if the habit itself is the problem?

In this episode, I’m sharing my own Pilates experience and why I eventually stopped going to the studio even though I loved it. The workout wasn’t the issue. The amount of time, travel, scheduling, and planning it required simply didn’t fit into my busy life.

Instead of giving up on Pilates, I found a simpler way to make it work.

We’re talking about creating realistic routines, better time management, and healthy habits that fit your actual life so you can become more consistent with your self-care over 40.

If you’ve been starting and stopping your workouts, healthy eating, clean eating, or daily habits, this episode will help you look at your approach differently.

You don’t have to wait for life to slow down before you take care of yourself. You may just need to make your self-care fit the life you’re living right now.

You’re busy. I get it. But busy can’t be your excuse for lack of self-care and healthy habits over 40.

In this episode, we’re talking about what it really means to make time for yourself in the middle of a busy life. I’m sharing my own experience of constantly telling myself, “I’m too busy. I don’t have time,” and the shift I had to make when I realized I did have time. I just wasn’t making my health a priority.

If you’re a busy mom in midlife who knows what you need to do but struggles to stay consistent, this episode will help you look at your schedule and your priorities differently.

We’ll talk about time management, creating realistic routines, building healthy habits, making time for a workout and daily movement, and finding practical ways to make healthy eating, meal planning, and clean eating fit into your real life.

You don’t need a perfect schedule or hours of free time. You need to decide that taking care of yourself matters and find ways to make it work.

    • 53. Busy Mom Over 40? How To Habit Stack Healthy Habits Into Your Routines

You’re a busy mom. You have a career, kids, a spouse, a home, appointments, activities, errands, and everyone seems to need something from you.

So when are you supposed to find time for your healthy habits, workouts, clean eating, and self-care?

The truth is, being busy doesn’t mean there’s no room for you. It means you have to get more intentional with the time you already have.

In this episode, we’re talking about habit stacking. A simple way to pair a healthy habit with something you already do so you can build consistency without trying to completely rearrange your life.

I’m sharing practical ways a busy mom over 40 can use habit stacking to:

      • Add more movement and workouts into an already busy schedule

      • Make clean eating and meal prep easier

      • Create more mental space and time for self-care

      • Use time in the car more intentionally

      • Build healthy habits into existing routines

      • Start with just 15 minutes instead of waiting for more time

You don’t need another complicated routine or a perfect schedule. You need a way to make healthy habits fit into the life you’re already living.

        Next Steps:

If you’re a busy mom over 40 who is ready to stop putting yourself last and start feeling good again, this episode is for you.

What if the “less busy” season you’ve been waiting for never actually comes?

Maybe you keep telling yourself, “When things slow down, I’ll work out. I’ll eat healthier. I’ll make time for myself.”And you mean it. But life keeps happening. Something comes off your plate and two more things get added.

Before you know it, years have passed and you’re still waiting for the right time to take better care of yourself.

In this episode, we’re talking about why so many women in midlife get stuck in this cycle of putting themselves last—and what happens when the stress, mental overload, and constant busyness finally catch up with you.

      • 51. Lost Yourself Taking Care of Everyone? How Routines Help You Build Consistent Healthy Habits Over 40

Have you ever looked in the mirror and wondered, How did I get here? Or realized you can't remember the last time you did something just for you?

I know that feeling because I lived it.

For years, I was focused on my family and everything they needed from me. When my husband jokingly told me, “You should get a hobby,” it made me realize something I wasn't ready to admit: I didn't really know what I enjoyed anymore.

In this episode, I'm sharing how I started reconnecting with myself through better time management, small pockets of time, and simple healthy habits that I could actually fit into my life. From a 30-minute workout and nighttime stretching to prayer and making smoothies, these small routines helped me start feeling better, rebuilding my confidence, and feeling like myself again

Because taking care of yourself in midlife doesn't have to mean finding hours of free time or completely changing your routine. It's about finding realistic ways to be consistent with the habits that support how you want to feel.

And that might include moving your body, making better choices with clean eating, creating routines that work for your schedule, or simply giving yourself a few minutes to figure out what you need.

        Next Steps:

If you're a woman over 40 who is tired of putting yourself last, this episode will remind you that you can make time for yourself and still show up for the people you love.

      • 50. Stop Going With The Flow: Why You Need Self-Care Routines Over 40

I used to believe that being "go-with-the-flow" was the ultimate sign of freedom. But after years of juggling the demands of an "uber-mom" life, I had a humbling realization: that lack of structure wasn't freedom at all—it was a fast track to burnout.

In this episode, I’m getting real about the shift I had to make from resisting structure to embracing it as a radical form of self-love. If you’re a woman over 40, you know exactly how heavy the "go-with-the-flow" mentality can feel when you're the one left for last on your own to-do list.

It’s time to stop pouring from an empty cup. Join me as we discuss:

        • Why routines are an act of self-care: How structure creates the space you need to breathe, not just for your family, but for yourself.
        • Time management for the overwhelmed: Simple ways to structure your day so you aren't constantly playing catch-up.
        • Building healthy habits that stick: Whether it’s finding the energy for a consistent workout or simplifying clean eating, we talk about how to make it happen without feeling rigid or overwhelmed.
        • The power of "one small action":Why trying to do it all is a trap, and how picking just one routine can help you feel like yourself again.
        • You matter, and your energy is worth protecting. If you’re ready to stop juggling everyone else’s needs and start building a life that actually feels good, this episode is for you.
