Self Care/Self Love

Lately my mind has had a whirlwind of thoughts and I've also had a lot of anxious behavior going on in the past two weeks. Between starting school again, moving and trying to keep a solid daily routine, it's very easy to get caught up in NOT showing yourself the proper care and love that you need. So in order to share how I've been making time to care for myself, so that I'm able to care for others; here's a list of the things I try to accomplish in the week (even if it's only one of these):

  • Read at least 10 to 25 pages of your current book
  • Spend time away from your technology devices (at least 30 minutes)
  • One bubble bath
  • Gratitude Journaling (see Pinterest for ideas)
  • Have a silent hour or day (depending on what your work week looks like)
  • Watch a movie or a show with no interruptions
  • Talk to a close friend (Including Jesus)
  • Workout for 30 minutes
  • Practice deep breathing (at least for 5 minutes)
  • Take a nap
  • Scriptures to meditate on:

    • Ephesians 5:29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church
    • Psalm 139:14 I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
    • 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
    • Mark 12:31
    • Proverbs 31:30
