Legally Speaking with David Hale

Self Defense: What you need to know

Listen Later

If you head into McAlester, or drive to Poteau, for a night on the town or to hit some of the local hot spots, the last thing you want is trouble.  However, sometimes trouble finds you anyway and you are forced to defend yourself. Nearly every state in America, including Oklahoma, as well as federal laws, allow you to protect yourself from harm by another person.  In general, self-defense is defined as protecting yourself from physical harm in a situation that otherwise could constitute a crime.  In this episode of Legally Speaking, we take a closer look at what that means in real life and how to avoid legal trouble if you are in a situation where you need to defend yourself.

Remember you can listen to Legally Speaking each Thursday at 11:00 a.m. on The Mix 93.1/104.9 FM.
