Self development is defined as activities that develop a person's capabilities and build human capital and potential, facilitate employability, enhance quality of life and the realization of dreams and aspirations. It takes place over the course of an individual's entire lifespan, so it is about everything you learn and work towards becoming the best version of yourself, stretching you and fulfilling your potential.
Whereas Shelf development comes from where people buy books or go on course and shelve what they have learned.

Both Dan and Gary started on the tools and progressed their careers in construction management.
