  • What Do We Misunderstand About Success? | A LIVE Conversation

In this episode of Self-Discovery Insights for Misfits, Jas explores what we misunderstand about success and why so many of us struggle to recognize our own progress while we are still in the middle of becoming.

Using her own experiences with podcasting, fear, self-criticism, and stepping outside of her comfort zone as a starting point, the conversation explores discomfort as a necessary part of growth, learning to be present in the journey, navigating setbacks, rebuilding confidence after difficult experiences, and recognizing when it may be necessary to grow somewhere safer before returning better equipped.

The intention of this episode is to examine how expectations, comparison, fear, patience, support, and our definition of success can shape the way we view our progress, while also exploring the importance of trusting the process, allowing room for adjustment, and remembering that we may already be successful in ways we have not yet learned to recognize.

  • Vulnerability, Self-Expression, and the Fear of Judgment | A Conversation with Cozzy – How Did You Get Here?

In this episode of Self-Discovery Insights for Misfits, Jas sits down with music producer and creative Calvin “Cozzy” Harris to explore how fear of judgment, overthinking, and self-consciousness can shape the way we communicate, create, and show up in relationships.

Using Calvin’s experiences as a starting point, the conversation explores becoming guarded, learning the difference between self-awareness and self-consciousness, rebuilding self-trust, embracing vulnerability, and finding the confidence to express yourself more authentically.

The intention of this episode is to examine how overthinking, self-perception, and past experiences influence self-expression, relationships, and creativity, while also exploring identity, visibility, and the courage it takes to be fully seen in a world where many people quietly filter themselves before ever speaking.

  • Unsolicited Advice, Opinions, Debates & Disagreements

In this episode of Self-Discovery Insights for Misfits, Jas shares a personal conflict involving unsolicited advice, differing opinions, feeling misunderstood, over-explaining, and trying to defend her perspective. Using that experience as a starting point, the conversation explores how disagreements can turn into debates, hurtful words, and resistance, how the need to prove yourself can drain your energy, and why not every misunderstanding needs to be addressed or resolved. The episode also reflects on self-control, boundaries, detachment, and the importance of knowing when to stop explaining yourself and protect your peace.

  • Spirituality vs. Religion, Family Expectations, Identity, Authenticity & Music | A Conversation with Stazzy – How Did You Get Here?

What happens when the life you were taught to live no longer aligns with the person you’re becoming?

In this episode of Another Perspective, I sit down with artist "Stazzy" also known as AJ for an honest conversation about spirituality, religion, family expectations, identity, authenticity, and how those experiences have shaped both the person and artist he is today.

Growing up in a strict African Christian household, AJ learned early what was expected of him. He eventually pursued ministry and was on the path toward becoming a pastor, but began questioning whether the version of purpose he was pursuing actually aligned with what he felt called to do. Rather than seeing his decision to walk away as failure, he began redefining what faith, purpose, and service meant for himself.

We talk about the difference between religion and spirituality, the pressure of disappointing the people who love you, learning to become comfortable with choices others may not understand, and what it takes to express yourself without shrinking to fit someone else’s expectations.

Stazzy also shares how that journey shows up in his music, why self-actualization has become such a recurring theme in his work, and how he sometimes has to remind himself, “You are exactly who you think you are,” before stepping into spaces that challenge his confidence.

We also explore the gray areas of life, letting go of the idea that there is always one “right” path, giving ourselves permission to evolve, and taking the time to discover what genuinely matters to us.

    In this conversation, we explore:

    • Spirituality vs. Religion
    • Family and Generational Expectations
    • Identity and Authentic Self-Expression
    • Walking away without considering yourself a failure
    • Purpose, calling, and choosing your own path
    • Music as a form of self-discovery
    • Confidence and self-actualization
    • Learning to embrace the gray areas of life

If anything in this conversation resonates with you, take whatever perspective you need from it and apply it however it fits into your own life.

  • What Truth Are You Resisting?

    What truth are you resisting?

After taking the month of May to reflect, I found myself confronting heartbreak, disappointment, and uncomfortable truths I wasn't ready to accept. In this episode, we explore the trade-offs we make when we ignore our intuition, go against our own discernment, and overlook what our experiences may be trying to teach us.

Sometimes the greatest pain comes from refusing to acknowledge what we already know.

    This is Another Perspective.

  • The Belief Spectrum: Receptivity vs Resistance

How do you show up when opportunity presents itself?

Are you open to it or do you hesitate?

In this episode, we explore the difference between receptivity and resistance, and how your belief system shapes the way you respond to opportunity.

Through personal experience and reflection, I break down how past experiences, conditioning, and assumptions influence our decisions, often without us even realizing it.

This conversation is an invitation to become more aware of your internal responses, question where they come from, and learn how to discern what is truly aligned for you.

Because at the end of the day,

your willingness to take chances should come from alignment, not assumption.

  • Restructuring & Recalibrating

Sometimes life calls you to change even when nothing around you looks wrong.

Nothing is falling apart… but something no longer feels aligned.

    Your identity starts shifting.
    Old habits feel unfamiliar.
    Certain relationships feel different.
Even your physical space starts reflecting what’s changing within you.

In this episode of Another Perspective, we talk about what it feels like to go through seasons of restructuring and recalibration.

From isolation and solitude, to misalignment in friendships, career, and identity—this episode is about recognizing those moments not as signs of losing yourself, but as invitations to become.

We also get into why familiarity can keep us stuck, how growth often requires distance and discomfort, and 3 practical ways to navigate transition with honesty, clarity, and action.

Because growth cannot stay internal forever.

It has to reflect on the outside.

You cannot ask for expansion while continuing to make decisions from fear.

    You are not losing yourself.

    You are meeting yourself.

  • The Duality Of The Block Button

Sometimes blocking someone isn’t about being petty… it’s about protecting your peace.

But other times…it might come from avoidance.

In this episode, I’m breaking down the duality of the block button, when it’s a necessary boundary and when it might be a reaction.

    We talk about

    • blocking from reaction vs response
    • the need for control and validation
    • what happens when communication falls on deaf ears
    • how to discern who actually deserves access to you

Because the truth is… you can’t always convince someone to understand you.

And sometimes… choosing yourself looks like cutting access completely.

Sometimes you just gotta be done.

  • Choosing Discomfort to Grow | How Did You Get Here? (Feat. Kassim Mills)

In this episode of Another Perspective, I sit down with my longtime friend Kassim Mills to talk about breaking out of autopilot, choosing discomfort, and the journey that led him to become a flight attendant.

In the first installment of the How Did You Get Here? segment, Kassim shares what life looked like when everything felt like it was moving on autopilot while he was serving tables and trying to figure out his next step. That uncertainty eventually pushed him to pursue something completely different and step into a new career in aviation.

Throughout our conversation, we talk about the realities of becoming a flight attendant, the challenges of adjusting to a new city, the loneliness that can come with big life changes, and the lessons he learned about patience, self-care, and emotional control along the way.

If you’ve ever felt stuck or unsure about taking the next step in your life, this episode is a reminder that growth often begins when we choose to step outside of our comfort zone.

  • Burnout Exposed: How Hustle Culture Keeps You in Survival Mode

    Burnout doesn’t always look dramatic.
Sometimes it looks like you getting everything done and still feeling drained.

In this episode, I’m sharing what it looks like when we burn ourselves out chasing progress, how hustle culture and survival mode lead to overextension, and how we can build from alignment instead of urgency.
