One of the keys to healthy self esteem is not to blow out of proportion our positive traits or those negative ones that we all possess. When we do this it is very detrimental to achieving the balance or equanimity we are seeking. If every time someone compliments me or criticizes me, I am 'bent out of shape' this is a sign that I have not let achieved the equilibrium that comes with good self esteem.
