Self preservation is in our flesh. It often bears the fruit of self exaltation.

WE are called to be overcomers;
Pride is counter intuitive to being an overcomer;
Paul's struggle with pride 2 Cor 12:7-9;
Adopting the biblical paradigm;
As we draw near God changes us;
Overcomers get a new name;
