Love can be thought of as a profound knowing, surrendered acceptance, & genuine adoration of the self in all its aspects.

You can not makeshift love or maintain a falsified projection of it for long. That is because love is synonymous with truth, and truth can not be faked. Like truth, Love can be rejected or dismissed, but it is always within you. Approaching Love from a place of lack is a backwards way of attaining it. One must love themself completely before they can conceive of fully loving another; and any love from another will be even slightly disingenuous if one does not love and therefore know themself completely. Therefore, a prerequisite to fully, authentically, and deeply loving another is true self-love.

True love is not an emotion or even a feeling. It is a state of being. You can not feel love, you can only be it. On the flip side, you can feel lust, but not be it.

And to that end, there’s really only one kind of Love. This Love is all there ever is, was, or will be — and it is love of self. When we say we’re so in love with another, what we really love is our OWN experiencing of ourselves within the presence of another — self-love is the only love.
