Salt Water is a poem about the emotional journey to self acceptance and the healing powers of shedding tears.

SALT WATER

Anxious and angry,

With no real reason why

Feeling broken and damaged,

Trying not to cry.

Things that happened long ago,

Seem fresh and new today

Hoping the anger doesn’t show

Wishing the hurt would just go away

Pray tomorrow will better

Hoping to feel renewed

But this day goes on forever

Annoyed, irritated and full of attitude.

Accept what is and let the tears fall,

Tell the painful past to be gone!

Emotional cleansing is the hardest of all

But necessary for life to go on.
