OK, so what is a gist?

A gist \JIST\ noun. 1 : the ground of a legal action. 2 : the main point or part : essence. Examples: I didn't catch every word, but I heard enough to get the gist of the conversation. See, here it is...we are the "gist" of life. That we are here, alive, and breathtakingly beautiful is the main point or part of each interaction. Please do not let others seed the definitions of your gist. ~
