The Insidious Nature of Self Sabotage

We had a neighbor who really wanted to connect with everyone in the neighborhood. She created a neighborhood watch, a neighborhood contact list, welcomed new neighbors, walked and picked up trash and weeded at the subdivision entrance sign. She would also send emails to everyone on occasion to keep everyone apprised of things of interest or concern.

This neighbor was the kind most of us would appreciate having, but for her self-sabotage habits that got in the way. It was inadvertent. It usually is. Very rarely do any of us set out saying “I’m going to self-sabotage”.
