There is a song based on Psalms 42 and 43 called "Satisfied in You." Some of the lyrics read, "Let my sighs give way to songs that sing about your faithfulness. Let my pain reveal your glory as my only real rest. Let my losses show me all I truly have is you. Why am I down? Why so disturbed? I am satisfied in you." This kind of speech is faith-inducing self-talk that one who knows the Word of God and remembers the promises of God can speak to themselves in moments of despair. Don't listen to the wicked who taunt, Satan who accuses, or your circumstances that despair. Fill your heart with Scripture and let the Spirit apply it as you speak the truth that we have hope in God no matter what goes on around us.
