Originally from New York State, Rachel Saunders earned her BA in French from Smith College in Northampton, MA at the age of 20. After college, she moved to San Francisco and then Oakland. In 2008, after nearly ten years of intensive research, Rachel launched her revolutionary jam and marmalade company, Blue Chair Fruit. Rachel is the author of three cookbooks, one of which was nominated for a James Beard Award. A believer that a life well lived should include many chapters, Rachel closed Blue Chair after a decade to launch her career in real estate. She has never looked back!
