Soul Ex Machina are back in the business with their second single. Coming out on 14th April 2021, the ‘Still Jazzy’ collaboration of Afterlife and Dizztrickt is a raw and old school Drum & Bass infusion, paying homage to the sound of the genre’s golden years. Tense pianos, jazzy stabs, subtle atmospheres, completed with raw, strong basslines and rolling funk drums – all these together are key to the signature sound of both producers involved. This one is for the heads that know!
‘Missing’ on the flipside is the dangerous one. Sub-bass driven minimalist stomper with sinister atmosphere, stabs, growls and restless drum patterns. All of that combined into a polished dark and deep package. Afterlife showcases his approach to the deeper and minimalistic side of Drum & Bass here, yet stays true to his own ideas and signature sound.
Coming from Brno, Czechia, Afterlife is a long-time producer who dedicated his interest in the harder and darker side of the Drum & Bass music, not only in his solo production but also as part of the Razcals duo (along with Sayko) with multiple releases on Deafmuted Records, Close2Death, Soul Ex Machina and more. Developing his unique vision of sound and style, Afterlife already broke out from the boundaries of Czech scene and proceeds further. Forming a duo with Dizztrickt, his long-time musical collaborator with knowledge in hip-hop and old school Drum & Bass, to bring the unique essence of approach into music written together.
