Manka Dhingra is the Deputy Majority Leader of the Washington State Senate, representing the 45th Legislative District since 2017 as the first Sikh state legislator in the U.S. With decades of experience as a prosecutor and behavioral health expert, she chairs the Senate Law & Justice Committee and has championed reforms in domestic violence, firearm safety, property tax relief, and criminal justice.
As a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney since 2000, Dhingra developed therapeutic courts and trained law enforcement in crisis intervention. She co-founded Chaya to support South Asian domestic violence survivors and serves on the board of Hopelink to combat poverty. A leader in equity, poverty reduction, and aging policy, Dhingra ensures a fair and inclusive approach to governance.
