Dr. Sophia is a “master teacher” and servant-leader who has spent the last 30 years developing her spiritual craft as a holistic practitioner, healer, writer, artist, interpretive & liturgical dancer and dance teacher, and transformational life coach while serving as an academician and academic leader during the last 25 years after earning her Ph.D. in Community College Presidency at Colorado State University in 2009.
In her new season of life, Dr. Sophia will earn a Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt University’s Divinity School in Nashville, TN, beginning in the Fall of this year. Dr. Sophia desires to serve God’s people in the “spirit of excellence” through her “gift of exhortation and empowerment” in the form of her passion and purpose work --- her amazing women’s empowerment/ministry and consulting organization----ASHANTI Truth, established in 2005 and designed to empower women of diverse ages and cultures to courageously excavate and uncover their God power and therein fulfill their purpose as a “Daughter/Woman of God.” Dr.
Sophia is the proud and grateful mother of one adult son, Jamal, who is a thriving logistics expert with a Fortune 500 company,
