After the unpleasant dinner with Mrs. Ferrars, Elinor finds herself almost grateful that she's not the one engaged to Edward. But Lucy Steele had a thoroughly different experience, and she's called on her "dear friend Elinor" to gloat about how much Mrs. Ferrars and Fanny liked her. While she's there, the two women receive another visitor: none other than Edward Ferrars himself. It's supremely awkward, made even more so when Marianne joins them and addresses Edward with sisterly warmth. Tonight, Edward, Lucy, and Elinor would all rather be anywhere else but here -- but their discomfort will be the source of your comfort, as tonight's story soothes you into a night of warm and relaxing sleep.
