Upon the devastation of their husband's and father's death, Mrs Dashwood and her three daughters find their life will change dramatically. Given little empathy by Mr Dashwood's eldest son and his wife, they decide to move acrossthe country to Devon - but not before the eldest Dashwood, Elinor, has developed feelings for her sister in law's brother - Edward Ferrars.
