English transcript: Hello and a very, very warm welcome to our podcast Sensebreaking in the making. We are two eighteen-year-old girls who are currently at a stage where questions like "Okay, what do I want to spend my whole life with, what do I want to invest my energy in, what do I want to do?" come up. I am Anka and I am Anna. Like so many other young people we have set ourselves the goal of making this world at least a little bit better. The problem is that we have no idea where to start, we simply lack the idea. I also find it remarkably difficult in this extremely complicated and interdependent world to be ready to say "I'll start right here" because we are facing so many serious problems and this is actually what the main question of our podcast is about: What are the biggest problems in our world and what kind of solutions already exist? The ideal scenario would not only be to find one or more answers to this extensive question, but also to inspire you with this podcast and encourage you to think about various other challenges you might not even know. Or maybe you are just looking for input to help you find your purpose. We will approach this in the form of a series of interviews. We will simply interview people who have tackled a particular problem and ask them why they do what they do to find out what issues are out there. The aim is to keep it as multi-layered as possible, to interview and talk to as many different people as possible, from different industries, from different backgrounds, and with different ideas. We want to find out what they are dealing with and why they put so much time and energy into a certain topic.
The podcast is called Sensebreaking in the making and you may not be familiar with the word Sensebreaking. The best way to explain Sensebreaking is via Sensemaking. Sensemaking happens when you are overloaded with a massive amount of information and I have the feeling that something we are all confronted with on a daily basis. we all receive a vast amount of information and then finding out ok how do I find the meaning, how do I find a common thread or how do I find out what I can rely on and how do I find out that this is actually true. that is the process of sensemaking. "Sensebreaking is the interruption of the process of sensemaking. Suppose you get a new stimulus or new information and it doesn't fit your worldview at all. This causes you to restructure your values or beliefs to include this new impulse in your narrative. We hope to be able to inspire you or find answers to your questions.
I think that's it for now. We are looking forward to the upcoming talks and we hope you will join us for the first interview.
