Whenever we think of the word "apostle", we only think of the Twelve Apostles. Or maybe we also think about those who have great faith, who are sent out to the jungles of Africa or to the deserts of Arabia, to build thousands of churches or to die for their faith. Seldom do we actually think of the word "apostle" in relation to ourselves. Are we "apostles", too? Yes, we are! But with a small "a", of course. The Twelve Apostles are a closed group. But the word 'apostle" with a small "a" is applicable to all of us. The word apostle actually means "one who is sent out". We are, of course, sent out by the Lord Jesus into all the world (Matt 28:19-20).
