Jesus compares the Kingdom of Heaven to a net cast into the sea, gathering fish of every kind. The gospel of grace draws all people, but there will come a time of sorting and judgment where the righteous and the wicked are separated. Just as fishermen keep the good fish and discard the bad, so too will God’s judgment reveal the eternal destiny of every person. Our works will be tested, not for salvation, since that is a gift, but to reveal faithfulness and fruitfulness.
