When it comes to infringing on people’s religious freedom rights, I’ve seen everyone from courts to politicians to everyday citizens claim “separation of church and state.” I know several people who will point out that those words are not in the Constitution. However, the idea of the concept of separation of church and state does exist in the First Amendment, just not the way most people today use it.
