September 18 - Maria Makes a Mess of Puerto Rico

On September 18, 2017, Maria reached sustained winds of 175 mph (280 km/h), which devastated Dominica, St Croix, and Puerto Rico. It is regarded as the worst natural disaster in recorded history to affect those islands and was also the deadliest Atlantic hurricane since Jeanne in 2004. And what it did to Puerto Rico is still being felt today in all aspects of life; including politics.
