Power can cause the ego to get out of hand. When people see folks who abuse their power, it causes them to lose faith in that organization and not to trust it any more. When an organization loses trust, it’s going to create a very unstable situation. This then can cause a lot of damage down the road and things won’t be able to grow to their full potential.

It is very tempting to abuse your power because you're the one in charge and who really is going to challenge you. Not many. But the idea is that you don’t want to be a hypocrite and lower the standard for others to follow. If people see that you can abuse your power, then others will think that is what it will take to progress with their own lives. So don’t lower the standard and don’t take advantage of your power.
