much in so few words. I don’t know many
people that haven’t crossed the line with this one. It doesn’t even mean using His name as
profanity, but using His name when it isn’t in reverence. Anytime we misuse His name or use it in a
lighthearted manner, we take His name in vain.
This one is often a heart issue.
How reverent and serious are we about who God is and how we represent
Him? Sometimes I wish for the days when
I was growing up when we stayed in the foyer until we were ready to go in the
sanctuary and be serious, quiet, and reverent.
But I know God loves us and wants us to enjoy life too, but I think
often we just don’t see Him as God.
Sometimes I forget who He is and give Him my prayer list and move on
with my day, but He is our Creator, our Lord, our Defender, our Comforter, our
Healer, our Savior, and yes, our Father.
I could take pages and pages to list who He is to us, but I think you
get the idea. He is so much to us, and
how much time do I give Him where my focus is Him and not just getting through
the prayer, or the ss lesson, or the sermon, or finish reading this chapter so
I can get my questions for Bible Study done and move on with my day. I have to believe I am not alone in this.
Please pray today and ask
God to reveal Himself to you in a new way.
Ask Him to help you see His majesty and his glory. I pray you are able to have a new
relationship with God once you open yourself up to who He is.
