New Sabbath Service (1975–78) Avodat ha'kodesh, commissioned by Congregation Emanu-El, through a grant from the Jennie Baruh Zellerbach Memorial Fund.

Performed on Saturday, March 15, 1976, for the 125th Anniversary of Temple Emanu-El, and the 50th Anniversary of the dedication of the Temple on Lake Street. Rabbi Joseph Asher, Cantor Joseph L. Portnoy, Rabbi Arnold J. Magid, Soprano soloist Marion Wade and the Temple Emanu-El Choir and Instrumentalists, conducted by organist Ludwig Altman.
