If you could travel thru time and space, why wouldn't you take an opportunity to watch Elvis Presley sing on live television? Of course, you would. But alas, the Tardis doesn't always agree with the Doctor's preferred destination. Thus the Tardis drops the Doctor off in a typical British suburb just in time to watch the Queen's coronation. But nothing is ever that simple with the Doctor.
