I still don’t know what to expect out of the Christmas special. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to them. It’s not always the introduction to a new doctor or a setup for the following Series plot. This unique, though, really captured me. There are lots of tonal references that spoke to me and a story that ties up some loose ends from the end of the Series.
