As Lutherans, we celebrate the work Martin Luther did in getting the Church back on track. He helped move believers to see a faithful, loving God, and not a God who held his people in purgatory. Jesus tells a similar story in the parable of the Prodigal Son; the son was living his life one way, made a U-Turn, and was fully restored.
