Here at Christ the King Lutheran Church, we’ve said we value Acceptance, Caring, Family, and Joy. We even have a diagram on our big bulletin board to remind us of these values. But in the two readings from God’s word that we’ll hear in this worship service, there are serious reminders that sometimes acceptance, even from God’s family, is hard to come by for people who may not have a sense of belonging elsewhere because others see them as strange or even damaged.
