King of beasts – Lion (hyena); King of the Ocean – Shark;(Orca) King of Plants – Trees (Vines)
Psalm 1:1-3; Ezekiel 47:12; Isaiah 41:17-20; Revelation 22:2
Read John 15:1-11; go and bear fruit.
Vs.1-2 If you don’t bear fruit God removes you / bear fruit and God prunes you, to bear more.
A rather important concept to fully understand and practice as a Christian, I would think.
So what does bearing fruit mean?
Matthew 12:33-37; overflow of the heart – Luke 7:17-19 good tree
Matthew 6:19-21; 13:52; Luke 8:14,15; Proverbs 25:11,12; Hebrews 13:15
Is this the reason Paul encourages us to develop the fruit of the HS in Galatians 5:22,23
More than just speech but action accompanies the fruit, Luke 3:8-14; James 2:14-17
1 Peter 4:11; Colossians 4:5,6
Vs.3 Understanding the Truth helps cleanse the soul, Ephesians 5:25-27
Vs.4 Jesus said to abide in Him – John 8:31-32; Matthew 28:19 disciples. What Kind of a disciple are you?
If Jesus visited you today what could you share with Christ? Luke 19; 10 minas
Vs.5 Apart from Me you can do nothing – 2 Peter 3:10-13; Matthew 6:29-21; Matthew 25 - talents
People love to set goals and live to achieve them, health, work, family, what about spiritual?
Vs.6 Everyone outside of Christ is destined for destruction.
Vs.7 Whatever you wish – IF you abide in Me and My words abide in you.
John 14:13; Whatever you ask in My name – IF it glorifies God, Matthew 5:16
John 15:16; Whatever you ask – IF your bearing fruit.
Vs.8 Bearing fruit – will bring glory to God, proving you to be my disciples.
Vs.9-11 Love is telling the Truth.
Individually we are but one tree or one branch but God has made it possible for one tree to grow multiple fruits, 9 to be exact, and we are many trees and many branches, here in this congregation, brought together to strengthen each other as we all strive to mature together by developing the fruit of the HS within this body of His. John 15:12-17.
The stronger we are together, the stronger we are in the world. May God bless all our efforts as we strive to bear even more fruit so people will recognize Christ living in us, by the things we say and the actions we do.
